| MAF Sensors!! Can I get your input on a performance MAF sensor? On my 5.4 I've already installed a K&N FIPK Intake system and am getting ready for the next step to "open her up". I was looking over these and they seem to boast nice improvements over stock (the one I'm looking at is already tuned for a cold air intake) Loading... The problem is these things run around $4-500 which is allot for me!!! From your experiences, would you say this is worth it, or would I be better off saving up for some headers / a nice Magnaflow system first? Thanks in advance.

| stock mafs at least on gm vehciels can had 500hp, wouldn`t be surprised if fords arn`t far off that. I have a summit HF MAF, not much difference to be honest, but i need it for when the supercharger gets bolted on. And i have heard many problems with guys running them on stock vehicle or with handheld programmers not working out to well. i have a custom tune from westers garage and they mapped it into my ECM file. I`ve had no problems. go with the exhaust first, Get a maf if you`ve done extensive engine work or are artificially aspirated. IMHO

| to me, they seem like they would help out alot better being that it does not have a screen that covers the entire tube. i dont know about any gains that you will gain but if you are going to be doin some serious mods, i think i might invest in something like that. do some shopping around before you buy that. i have seen that brand through many different distributors. i think the header and exhaust idea would yield better performance at the moment. |

| Thanks guys for the feedback!! As this is MY first truck and not a temp driver from my father, I do not plan on ever parting ways with him. As things wear out I will be replacing them with bigger and better untill he turns into the Non street - legal MONSTER I intend him to be For now I will heed your advice and stick with the exhaust. Eventually I'll have a real use for such a MAF sensor. I can't wait for that day to come. Oh BTW latest addition to the truck done Just last night!!: Tow mirrors of an 02 F250!! I can actually see where I'm merging now without those hideous fisheyes!!! And I look **** sexy while doing it HAHA!!
