1965 352 V-8 Small block or big block

I have read many postings about 352 v-8 engines. And it seems that half say the block is a big block and half say small block. I have also heard it referred to as a Windsor engine. All I have had to buy for mine is exhaust manifold gaskets and they never asked me big or small block. So which is it? Are 352's in both classes? If so how do you tell them apart? I have two of the engines. Both are 65' blocks. One is out of my 65' Galaxie 500. The other I am not sure of it's origin. But it is in my 68' F-100. I am going to rebuild the one out of my Galaxie to put back in it in place of the 390 that is in it now. So any help or tips in reguard to these engines would be of great help. As would any place to check for parts and rebuild kits.

I am very new to Ford, spent my whole life hating them. And in the last month, it is now all I own.

400ci and trannies

here is a little tidbit about a good deal of ford blocks. probably not exactly what you are wanting to know but read through it and you might find something interesting there.

Thanks fellas, good info, though a bit mind bending for a Ford virgin.

So far no luck finding an FE stamp on my block. My wife and I tore the entire top end off today and tomorrow I will pull crank, pistons, and cam.

you won't find a fe stamped on it , you should find a number 352 stamped on front of block .

I have found the 352 stamped both front and rear of the block. But I thought I read or saw a pic of a block and it was stamped FE as well as the 352 if the engine was cast in a certain place.
