New Holley Carburetor Four Barrel Hey all, so I got a Four Barrel Holley Carburetor, but i can't mount it on the stock intake. Its a 292 engine with the two barrel motorcraft carb on it right now. Is it possible to swap intake manifolds to accomodate my new Carburetor, or is this just to absurd? Is there more to it than just swapping intake manifolds? THANKS!

| you'll need to swap intakes. google 8 from 6. They have all sorts of stuff for the inline 6.

I've never had good luck with those adapter plates. And you will not necessarily be putting in twice as much fuel. What kind of truck do you have. I think somone up there, like I did, assumed it was a Chevrolet 292 Inline 6. 2bl Motorcraft carb, must be a F O R D vehicle. So what year is it? If my memory serves, I am thinking Ford made a 292 truck motor back in the 50's. I have a feeling that will be a tough one to find an intake for. I remember I did a clutch line on one of those old trucks before. I was suprised it was a hydraulic clutch way back then. I made the line out of steal braided hose. Or should I say, I designed it and had it made. I had to prove though that it was for a clutch and not brakes or they would not make it for me. Anyway, back on topic, what year and make is your truck? Thanks

yeah it is. I figured it had to be an old truck. It may be tough to find an intake for the that. Do you know what Ford has raised that into being if anything at all, or did they just quit production on that engine all together. From what I remember, it was a good engine.

That will be Ford Y Block. Available in 272, 292 and 312. Check this out. You may be able to find it cheaper somewhere else too. I know those are very basic engines and very easy to work on. HIGH PERFORMANCE PARTS
