METALHEAD201 is on a distinguished road
Ring and pinon gears 1996 f150.

Hello I have a 1996 4x4 f150 5speed 300. It's lifted with 33"s on it and I'm having a hard time Towing. It has 3.08 gears and they are way too tall. I wanted to know which gears I should go with If I'm going to be towing 3 tons? As long as the truck will maintain 60mph at a safe RPM I would like to go as low as I can? I really don't need anything over 65MPH max.

Which gears should I get and how hard are they to install on the front and rear.?

if you have never put in a ring and pinion set, i would not advise doing it by yourself the first time. setting backlash and getting the gears to lineup properly is a tedious task that must not be taken lightly. there is alot to it.
