Gas guage wiring problem.....

Hello!! My son is restoring a 1985 F250. The previous owner replaced the front gas tank, but did not hook up the wiring for the guage to work. He would like to get it wired, but can not quite figure out how to do it. ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks

Michele

There should be a ground wire and a sender wire there on the frame close to the top of the tank. The ground goes to the metal ring on top of the tank and the other will have a 3/8 nut or a push on peg that the wire goes on. Assuming it had this tank before and it was not an add on. Does it have a fuel tank selector switch?
