| Spark Plug wiring order? I'm re-wiring my spark plugs back to the distributor. Is there any particular order they need to be in, or can I just plug and go? Someone told me they do have to go in a particular order, but I want to verify that. Thanks!

| On my 292 engine. I can't figure out which wire to start with. I have never re-wired spark plugs from the engine to the distributor, so ANY advice or steps to do it would be GREATLY appreciated

| Sounds like you have removed your plug wires without noting the position of cyliinder number one on the cap. The first thing you will need to do is establish where number one plug wire goes. To do this you will need to remove the cap and number one spark plug. That would be the first one on the right hand or passenger side. Next, you can plug the spark plug hole with your finger while an assistant cranks the engine. Look at the distributor rotor and note the position it is in as the compression forces air past your finger. This is where you will install the wire for number one. From there you will install the wires around the cap in the direction the rotor was turning. The firing order on a ford 292 is 15486372. The cylinders are numbered from front to rear: Right 1-2-3-4; left 5-6-7-8. |

| 292 Ford Y Block is a V8 Bradley. I think you forgot a couple in the firing order. You got a good one to work and learn with Uranium. Engines don't get much simplier than those old Y blocks. Although I have always thought they had some funky looking exhaust pipe set ups though. Now remember, when get them wires in the right hole on the cap, you use some crazy glue on them so they can't pop out. Ok, Ok, Ok, jus kiddin about the crazy glue. The best thing to do, and I even do this myself, it just start at 1 plug, and work your way around the cap, one wire at a time.

| Oh, and BTW, Look for a motor that has a firing order of 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2. You find one of those, it will run faster and hardly ever break down.

| That of course is if the dizzy is installed like factory. If someone has pulled the dizzy out and restabed it, it could be off. Hopefully you still your wires in the cap and KNOW for a fact which is #1, then you are home free. Piece of cake. If not, then you will need to pull #1 up on TDC of the Compression stroke to find where #1 goes in the cap. If its off and you feel up to it, you could always pull the dizzy and get #1 where it goes as Semo has pictured.
