The Dana 60 swap as begun

I did the tear down the other day and now I am working on cleaning up the frame. Right now I am going as far as I can go before I have to start buying parts. I dropped a lot of money on some cool stuff when I had a job so now I get to install them. Oh and those brackets were a real pain. The asshat that had this truck before wanted to make sure they never came off.

I went out there to take photographs of the ground down welds and cleaned up ****. But I tripped over my creeper and dropped my camera. That thing spent all that time in Iraq with me just to get detroyed here at home. I am very angry right now.

Not at all. I still have a lot of stuff to post on ebay and other sites and no way to take photographs now. I am not happy. Oh, and neither is my wife. That camera was a wedding gift.

But on a good note. The frame cleaned up nicely. Now I just have to weld in all the holes I do not need. I want to really clean up the appearance.

We are taking to a repair shop. But I will not get my hopes up. Now, I have to repair my welder.

doesnt the excuse, it was a wedding gift, end after so long?? might be just me, but wedding gifts like all others, get used and abused at some point in their lives.
loving the project though. when you get done there, ill fly you here and you can start working on some of these projects around here for me.

I would think so as well. But I guess women see things differently.

After this one I have oh so many more.

Progrees report.

I bought some new wire this morning for my welder and I am about to head to my freinds house where the donor truck is being stored. I hope to come back with some brackets.

I was able to snag a camera so here is the latest. I am running into all kinds of problems I did not expect. There are huge differences between the two and four wheel drive frames. Plus, not having my donor truck on site is starting to be a real issue. But for now the brackets are removed and the prep work on the frame continues. I also included a shot of the parts waiting to go on.
