Not the entire warranty but any suspension or alignment issues will no longer be covered. Also if he breaks something in the drivetrain and it can be related to the lift or tires it can be a problem.

I would call the dealership then if they say it's ok get the name of the person because when it comes to replacing parts if something breaks some tech can blame it on the lift kit if he doesn't want to fix it. Maybe some 4X4 shop can do it and give you a warranty if something messes up.

You're best bet is to have him go to his regular dealer and ask them about it. Some dealers are mod friendly others are completely anti-mod (the majority). They will let you know what they approve (usually must be installed by them) and what they don't and you CAN and SHOULD get it in writing.

Keep in mind though if he is on the road far from home and encounters a problem he won't be able to go to his dealer which leaves him at the mercy of those around... Each one is a different gamble...

his pickup stays at home, he drives a 18 wheeler. He has had the pickup since christmas last year and it has 250 miles, it is a sitter.

his plans are a 6 inch lift with 36"s. i always thought that a 6 inch lift would mean you have to mess with the drive train to make it work good.

I will let him know what all of you said and he can go from there. Thanks guys
