good remedy for a blown head gasket?

I want to buy an '82 mustang with the 5.0 but it has a blown head gasket. Is this a serious issue? Can I drive it home, too risky? Ideas, or suggestions would be great, thanks!!

depends on how bad it is , if it over heats , no don't drive it , our 95 lumina apv 3.8 has a slow leaking head gasket , so every 6 months we put a bottle of bars aluma seal in it , never over heated , never cogged up .

yeah if it is causing the motor to overheat I wouldn't drive it. Also depends on how the gasket blew. To much cylinder pressure? Or perhaps the motor overheated already to cause it to blow. Depending on what happened I'd have the heads checked for cracks before throwing another gasket set at it if you do buy it.
