Good plug?

Gettin ready to put plugs in my 4.2 v-6, it has Motorcraft platinums in it now. just wondering if i should keep the same plug or go with a different brand? Ant info would be greatly appreciated!! I just bought the truck and took a plug out and it looked pretty worn out... sorry for all the posts but you all have helped me out alot in the past!!!! Thanks dave

use Motorcraft, Fords don`t like anything else.

The motorcrafts i took out was so bad!!! i dont mean oil burnt, but the electrode was burnt down to 90 thousands!!!!!! Could they have been the factory plugs? It has 130,000 on it.. Thanks

some people like the platinum plugs. if you break it down into science though, they are of no greater benefit to you unless you upgrade the ignition system to burn hotter. this is why i go with the regular plugs for the stock vehicles and the higher dollar plugs for the higher voltage systems.

The factory plugs have paint on the top of the plug where the wire connects... easy to tell.

Yes they had pait spots on the tips and the wires had 1999 on them also!!! WOW i would never thought both would have lasted that long. the truck ran fine i just wanted to pull a plug to look at it. glad i did. i just finished tunning up the ole girl! Thanks
