 | 2000 Ford Ranger Transmission I have a 2000 4.0 automatic with overdrive. It feels like it is slipping. Recently when going up a grade in California the truck got down to 35 mph. The motor reved high but the truck went no where. Is the trans no good?It has 190K on the trans. |

 | how does fluid look?? full and good colored?? thank you for using large text. there is a number of older folks around here that have sight problems. not saying that i fit into that catergory. |

| Yes the fluid looks good and is full. The truck sat for about a year before I started driving it again. I changed all the fluids and filters before driving it again. Quote:

| you will have to forgive me cause i am not a new ford man so i might have to ask about certain things. is the tranny slipping or is it late shifting?? |

| could be serious problems with the torque convertor, if it feels like it is slipping and over revs the engine constantly. |
