| 460 question I've just bought a 460...I think. Tell me if this is the right code for it, it was on the back near the bellhousing..it says 7Y942909 Is this a 460? |

| I beleive that # is actually D1VE D= 70's Decade, 1 = what year of the decade, so D1 would be 71, V= Lincoln, and E = Engine. Sure glad Ford put that E on there or I wouldn't be able to tell it was an engine. I think this could be either a 429 or a 460 block, but being that it came out of a Lincoln, I'd think it would be the 460 crank in it. Not sure when 75K30 is gonna be back, but he is probably more apt to know more about the Ford parts than I. I just learned a bit about identifying them with this 302 boat motor I recently acquired.
