You don't need to know the torque specs to get them off. Just take the bolts out. I am sure some Ford guru will be here shortly with head bolt specs.

If you are trying to say there are only 6 bolts holding that head on, I can assure you, there has got to be more than that.

So how is the motor looking inside? I am thinking since you got it this far apart, you may as well at least re ring it. New Rings, bearings, a vavle job and new gaskets. Is that something you think you can handle??? If not, don't do it. You'll have a rod hanging out of an oil pan or worse, the side of the block. A re ring kit usually is not real expensive. A couple hundred bucks or so I am guessing without looking. And maybe $150 for the basic valve job at the machine shop. But be prepared. It could go higher depending on the guides that may need replaced or possibly valves. Do your valves look recessed from unleaded fuel? I am guess not since you said the intake was a 75 year model hopefully meaning the heads have hardened seats already by then.

Well I took the other head off finally and found on the piston that it says 0.30.

So it's bored over .30. So what does that make it? Someone told me a 490. Idk.

I also started taking off the water pump but stuck on one bolt thats between all of the pulleys. So I'm going to have to pull the crank pully too.

If your going that far, you may as well just pull it apart and overhaul it..... new rings, and seals throughout.......

Do Fords really cost that much? Usually Summit is decent on their prices. I would get away from that Mr Gasket set. Use Fel Pro. JMO, they are better quality. I do use Mr Gasket header gaskets, they are OK, but not fantastic. But I would use a good gasket set. Seems like lots O money, and you are not even talking about the usual stuff yet, like rings, bearings, freeze plugs etc. I would check some prices on Ebay too. Even Summit sometimes has closeout deals on eBay that you can get cheaper off eBay than you can their web site. Worth checking into.
