Deep Cycle Batteries

Is anyone using Deep Cycle batteries in their Powerstroke? Pro's & Con's?

As I understand it deep cycle batteries are for marine applications and similar so not suitable for automotive use.

if it has a camper pkg. or one is used for power to a towed unit it should be deep cycle, but not for a normal starting battery. although some people do do it!

Yeah, the thing with deep cycle batteries is that they're great for long, steady loads that drain the battery, but not so good for short, heavy loads, like cranking. I've heard reports of bent plates in them from things like that.

I had a V-10 Dodge that had one in it for 3 years, it was in it when i bought the truck, thats why i asked. I traded it for this PowerStroke and Well I didnt have a choice on getting a battery today, I did have a choice on what kind of battery. (DC or Not) I bought a Dual Purpose Battery, It has 1000CA at 32DEG and 850CCA but is also a DC in a way. Thanks for the Replys!
