| Funny thing happened... I spoke to Pro Comp on the phone the other day, told em I had the 8.5" on my truck and I wanted to go down to 6.5" and he confirmed my thoughs: simply remove the extra blocks in the rear and the 2" drop shackles up front. When I asked about the swaybar end links (just to be safe) he claimed that it wouldn't be a problem and that I didn't need to buy the ones for the 6.5" kit... Now I'm confused cause I just looked at the parts list for both kits at the explorer pro comp website, and they show different P/N's for the end links in the 6" kit than they do in the 8" kit. Also the 6" kit end links call for an additional mounting plate along with moving the end link frame mount to the bottom of the frame... I think I can use the 8" end links and still maintain proper geometry like they told me but I need to give them another call to confirm this... JUST to be safe... Anyone that has experience with this kit feel free to chime in! 75k30 WHERE ARE YOU BUDDY!!!

| Epo: usually the swaybars have to remain at or above the front differential.... I just had a problem where sky jacker sent me the wrong swaybars for my truck. They measured in at about 17"... And the ones I have on now are about 11"..... When I sent them back they told me: "oops, we sent you ones from an 8" lift kit instead of a 6.... I spoke to a friend of mine who owns an honest mech shop (go figure) and he confirmed the swaybar can not be lower than the diff... Hope this helps. |

| Hey Ruff thanks for the info. After allot of research on my behalf and a little bit of luck I got this one worked out a while ago and saved myself a couple bucks heh. I am fortunate enough to have a leading suspension vendor only 5 minutes from my house and took full advantage of it. I decided to stop by Atlas Leaf Springs and had a chat with what I thought was a random tech there named Fernando, turns out he's the owner!! I got the tour of the facility's 4 buildings and everything including 3 of his own private rigs... Rolling Tribute (heavily modified H2) is AWESOME in person if you have never seen it, its on their front page. He gave me a couple options of what they were doing before endlinks even started comming out for these trucks. I took the long endlinks that came with the kit, cut a little material out the middle, threaded and sleeved them and now I have adjustable endlinks which, according to my math should work with up to a 12" lift or as low as stock!. The swaybar is supposed to be perfectly parallel to the axle in order to provide maximum sway protection and it's sitting perfectly level haha... Although now I am looking into removing it altogether, some of the local guys are telling me they tow WITHOUT a swaybar on their superduty and have had no problems driving with a trailer behind em or without. Supposedly if you got leaf springs you don't have to worry too much about sway, they are necessary on a coil sprung suspension though. Geeze I embarked on the journey of installing a lift kit for the first time and ended up learning waaaayyy more than I expected to about suspension. I'm glad I got the experience though but it would have been nice without the headache...

| lol.. i know what u mean... i actually have atlas springs on the back of my truck.. its a 6inch leaf pack that can hold the weight of a house with no flex... causes for a little bit of a Ruff ride in my 99 (catch my drift).lol... but its worth it.... I didnt know that about the sway bars and having leafs in the front.... thats to bad i am learning about this now.. cuz i just spent 50$$$ on a new set... and on top of that my truck still likes to float and there is still play in my steering wheel.... |

| Well get to checking on those parts we suggested!! We're still waiting to hear back from you on that!! Mine tracks straight all day... Anytime there is a rut or dip though those 35's try to rip the steering wheel from my hand... 150k on the factory stabilizer will do that though... That thing should have been gone at 40k MAX... I got a dual setup with Bilstein 5100's to match the one's behind my wheels in mind but I gotta save up some coin for that first... I was introduced to a reliable Estore that stocks a kit with the Bilsteins for really cheap so if you are interested just send me a PM. This will help lessen the bump steer if you are experiencing any of that. With the tires you are running I would recommend a dual setup regardless...

| I changed everything below my pittman arm as far as the steering with moog parts. the swaybars are sky jacker... and the dual stabilizers are ranchos..... the only thing in that front end that is from 99 is my diff.... in addition, when i went to get it alligned, the allignment guy said my right hub bearing was shot.... so, i replaced that prior to his allignment. i am still fairly new to this site... i will try an send you a pm not to certain of my success... lol |
