Might have to get a different bellhousing. Motor mounts won't work I think. Might have to fab you up some.

Along with the bellhousing and motor mounts you'll also need a new set of guages... Diesel tach's don't run as high as gassers do etc... Might look into getting a dash from a gasser truck, that way you get rid of the wait to start lights and other diesel only indicators... unless you don't mind them just being there. If your trans is an auto, a standalone controller will be neded for that as well I believe.

I'd say drop a 7.3 in em!! With a little bit of work they can put out good amounts of power and I think you could then re-use the motor mounts and the guages there as well.

I think I might need to change the rear gears as well.

Check with Advanced Adapters. They can adapt just about anything to just about anything.

I would go back with a 6.9. Rebiuld the old one if it can be rebuilt. Going with a 7.3 IDI would be less work that the 460 swap. Just about everything will bolt up. A friend of mine that did a the same swap you are talking about in an 85 F350 changed out the crossmember. I do not know why, it might have had to with his suspension plans. Why do you think you have to change the gears?

Well, for a while now. I am trying to get into the Police Academy which is a few miles down the road. Then I will have to work here locally for at least a year before I can get on with a federal agancy.
