Exhaust and Air Question for 6.0 Powerstroke

Would a complete straight pipe stock size exhaust and Cold Air Intake be a safe mod for my 06 F250 4x4???? I dont want to expedite any problems with this engine being that the 6.0 is famous for not holding up to some of the mods people do to them? Not an expert obviously but looking for some answers and a little better sound out of the exhaust and possibly an increase in MPG's....Thanks alot

Why stick to stock size, diesels love to breath!! I say go with a 4"!! If you're going to let it breather better then you gotta let it exhale better too!

Straight piping will make it sound like a jet! But you're also giving the dealer a reason to void your warranty, along with a slight loss of bottom end torque and a slight gain of torque at WOT. There are kits out there that allow you to swap the cat back in for warranty work though like the 4" TB kit.

DO yourself a favor and get an EGR delete too before it starts to become a problem.

If I remember right, its the same OD on the diesels as it is for the gassers from the factory: 3.5"

BTW If you plan on doing some HP mods like a tuner or turbo upgrade I would strongly recommend you get a set of ARB headstuds. The factory one's are known to be inadaquite for anything over stock and in some cases of heavy towing not even then.
