1997 F150 2 wheel body lift If I do a body lift on my truck (put spacers under my springs) will it give me a rougher ride? How will it affect the handling of my truck? Thanks

a body lift is spacers strictly under your body. I have personally put bodylifts on all my trucks and no it doesnt effect the ride at all. now putting a spacer under the spring sound more like a leveling kit, and that will effect your ride slightly especially if you dont get longer shocks.

Thanks, the kit will around $200 for a 3" body life and my truck is in the shop getting a new paint job and the mechanic said he would charge me around $150 plus parts...not sure if that is a good price or not. He said since he had the bed off it would be the best time to do it??

i can agree with that. body lift isnt going to affect you much at all. only time that you affect ride quality is when you start messing with the suspension. my first question to him though is how he is going to handle the fan shroud. with a body lift, it drops the fan down below the original position of the radiator. this can also affect cooling performance is not compensated by other means.

I know that 4 wheel parts charges about 500 buck for body lifts. I have personally charged 100 for the few I have done. So yeah 150 is pretty good price.

I have done one chevy and all others are dodges. The fan has never been a prob. for me at all. just make sure that the kit comes with a rear bumper relocator, some dont. if not get one, they are like 25 bucks. otherwise the rear of your truck will look goofy.

This is the kit a I was looking at Ford F150 Body Lift 1997-02 3" - Kits by Performance Accessories He said something about putting another spring on the back?? Does that sound right? Also, should I change my springs? I have 108,000 miles on my truck and it runs like a bat out of **** LOL

He must be talking about the leaf springs. No, that doesnt sound right. Your spring should be fine. The only part of your suspension that should be effected at 108,000 miles should be your shock's. Plus, replacing your rear leaf springs will cost more than you body lift. my truck is 27 years old with the factory springs.

I doesnt look like it has the bumper kit, I would just contact performance accessories and ask if it is included. All my kits were from the and only the dodge kit didnt come with it.
