F150 no oil pressure

I have an 1998 f150xlt v6 w/111121 miles. When I come to a full stop in drive my oil pressure drops to nothing and the oil light comes on. As soon as i hit the gas it comes up. If I am at a stop and when the pressure drops I can put it in neutral and the pressure will rise again till it is time to go then I put it is gear to drive away. It never stalls. I just had a new alt and idler pullie installed. And one last bit of info is that i have a check engine light on that reads #6 miss fire, and that happens often right after i change out the plug.

any thoughts??

thank you

Paul

i know the answer

i have an 89 f150 with a 302. i had the same problem. it ended up being my crank bearings. when the bearings get worn down, the oil doesnt slow down going through them, it just flows straight through, this is the pressure problem, the best way to test this is get a heavy oil, 50 weight heavy duty works best, change the oil to this and see if it makes a difference. if it does, you will need a new crank bearings and have the crank journaled. the easiest way to do this is to pull the engine, flip it over, take the oil pan off, disconnect the piston rods and pull the crank, saves a lot of time and money, let me know if this works.

I am having the same problem with my '87 Bronco w/ a 302 in it. I ran the codes on it and the only things out were the Temp sensor and something else that I can't remember what it was, but I know it was irrelevant to the oil pressure.....If you figure it out will ya let me know please?? I have been trying to change my temp sensor but I don't have a socket the right size to get the old one off. For some reason I think that could be it, so does my mom's fiancee and he's a mechanic....good luck!!!!
