I've never even heard of it. If you simply stick a spark plug in the exhaust then no it will not ignite

However...I did just talk to a mech friend of mine and he said that if you hook the sparkplug up right, then you can ignite it! I have never heard of it. He told me how to do it but I don't remember exactly...

just a sparkplug should not light your exhaust if it is running correctly. besides, even if it does light it, a flame will not be "thrown". there is not enough pressure from the exhaust to "throw" a flame. being a diesel makes it even more unlikely it will light. a spark plug can't light diesel fuel, which is why diesels dont have them. there is not enough heat. odds are if you want a flame thrower, you will have to buy a kit.

Try an RX7 without the afterburner on it. it'll shoot 3m long flames from what my swedish friend tells me. though a diesel wont throw a flame, diesel fuel isnt like gasoline, it wont just ignite as easily.

390FE will become famous soon enough
Sorry to bring an old post up but I did hear you could shoot flames out the exhaust(not sure how far) with a spark plug to ignite but I believe the car needs to be gas and running real rich so gas & vapers are getting though the motor and to the tail pipe unburnt.
