| I have a 1990 Bronco 2 4x4 with a V-6 2.9 engine and it has an AOD Transmission in it that has gone bad and has to be changed....My question is that my neighbor has a 1987 Bronco 2 with a V-6 2.9 engine and the same transmission I have in mine..... The only difference is my Bronco has the shifter on the column and his transmission shifter is on the floor and I was wanting to ask anyone if they know if I can interchange the linkage and make the transmission work in my Bronco....Any help at all would be appreciated...Thanks.. |

| Yes you can rearrange the linkage. I don't konw how as I've never had to do it. I think it would be easier to swap it to the floor as opposed to the steering column... Good luck!

| you shouldnt have to change anything at all. If the transmissions are both aod's then it doesnt matter where the shifter is located in the car. it still connects to the same place on the transmission.

| He'd have to change the shifter from or to the floor or column.... since one is mounted on teh floor and the other on the column..... ???

| no cause the linkage still bolts to the same place on the transmission. regardless of floor or column mount they both end up at the same place under the car.

| But what about once it's in the vehicle, something's gotta be set up inside the vehicle..that'd be part of the linkage... *scratches head*
