1999 f250 rear brakes

I am having trouble with removing the rear rotor on my 1999 F250. It has a full floating axle. I have removed the special lock nut, the axle, but the rotor will not slide off. It is loose, but will not pry off. Can anyone suggest some way of getting the rotor off without using a sledge hammer.

Loosten the adjuster. even tho you have the p-brake off and not pushing on the pedal the brakes are probably still really close to the drum and holding it on. Loosen the adjuster to bring the pads away from the drum and they should slide right off.

By lock nut you mean the nut or screw between 2 of the studs that holds the drum on?

Umm I am assuming you mean the DRUM wont slide off? Or am I wrong in thinking this had rear drum brakes instead of rear disks? If it is drum be sure your parking brake isnt set ( i had to say it, i have seem it before) and back the adjuster off a few turns. i usually take a large shot mallet and hit the drums a few times on the rear and front to center up the pads and they usually fall right off without backing off the adjusters.

If it IS in fact drum, (I think so) then you have to pull the axleshaft and all that fun stuff out... at least on my truck I do
