exhaust interchange?

i was wondering what other ford exhaust system (full system) is interchangeable with an 89 f150 with the 302.

the system on my truck underwent a hack job by the previous owner and i fear back pressure is lost. and it's pretty loud and annoying.

if it is interchangeable with other year ford trucks i'd like one from a newer one as they are less prone to have rotted out at the junk yards...

I would guess safely up to 93-94 but the 302 is popular and used up to 95 (i think) in the trucks and up to 98 in the explorers.

My recomendation is to just get a set of headers from Summit or somewhere similar and have the exhaust redone. You can get aftermarket cats for cheap and put a resinator and muffiler to quiet things down ans still get decent power gains over the stock system. And going duel will gain power also.

If your looking for stock and used than look for a truck or bbronco from 87-93 (or 94). I think the frames are all the same on those. after 93-94 I don't know what happened to the frame. In treory you should be able to use any truck 302 exhaust manifolds and I am not sure about the piping because of differances in frames and what else is underneith. Or if there are no exhaust manifold leaks just get new piping put on.

O wouldnt waste your time trying to replace the exhaust system with a used one. just go the a muffler shop and have it redone. Most of the time an exhaust system is rusted do to heat and cool cycles. Not worth you r time to mess with that hassle.
