3 speed automatic to 5 speed manual help

i have a 1969 ford torino with a 351w, i pulled out my FMX cruise-o matic 3 speed and installed a T5 5 speed maual from a 1987 -1993 302 mustang, i have the T5 bolted on the car and the clutch paddles all setup right .
my problem is that i cant find a flywheele that will work. So far i have tried almost all availible flywheeles and they are to big or have to little teeth or not balanced correctly I got one today that fits up with the cluth and has the correct amount of teeth , but the whole car shakes.
i have a 157 teeth flywheele and 10 1/2 inc clutch 351w motor with a 2 piece rear main seal, the T5 tranny and bellhousing are out of a 1987 1993 5.0 mustang..
i thought i had finished with the hardest part of the job getting the clutch paddle to pull instead of push . the crossmember had to be reversed which was easy . what have i done wrong or is there some way of ballancing the flywheele ???

thanks for your time.

problem solved

i found the problem. i need the 157 teeth flywheel with a 28 ounce ballance. there are three different 157 teeeth flywheels (1) 0 ounce (2) 28 ounce (3) 50 ounce. for 351 2 piece rear main seal to match the 302 bell , 302 tranny,10 1/2 inch clutch you need the 28 ounce ballance flywheel.

Which year mustang did you get the tranny out of? The newer ones are "World Class" and have a stronger 5th gear.. but my concern it a T-5 can barely handle the horsepower from a 302, with a 351 you might want to be careful, no powershifting, I have seen the insides of several t-5's that could handle a suped up 302. Several of the mustang owners I know have dumped the T-5 and gone tremec.

that is a weak trans, Why dont you consider upgrading to a better trans now whaile you are still in the building stages? Just a thought.

yeh the tremec is a better tranny and it needs alot more work to be done to fit it under the 69 torino, floor tunnel has to be changed to accomodate the tranny , bellhousing issues e.t.c.
my t5 worldclass is out of a 87 -93 model stang and there are a bunch of aftermaket internals that could be added to give better performance than that from the factory .e.g. stronger gear materials, different gear combos so on , look at the setups in the t5's Ford Motor Sports has and Rouch Racing, these t5 worldclass can be beefed up. as far as i know the weakness of the t5's is the twist and the tremec has almost no twist , lucky for me i have 2 1/2 t5 trannies in good condition that i can change over in a weekend if i needed to.
you guys also gotta remember that my car is not a full on drag car, mine is a daily driver (except for the winter). i drag race occaissionally in Alburqueque but most of the time i am on the street making all new car buyers reconsider they're purchases and opt for an oldie.
i would love to put a tremec someday .....

ok here is what the Ford Racing superduty T5 has, (superduty)2.95 lower gear ratio and double moly second speed, third speed and counter shaft cluster gears and steele input bearing retainer.
going from the FMX to T5wc is a steep in the right direction though , ha ?
i have a good FMX for trade or whatever.

Angry

dang it... i just put on my ballanced flywheel today and i can deffinately feel the difference from b4 it was ballanced only i still feel a slight vibaration comming from the engine ," it could be my driveshaft though ", i don't know yet. anyhoo ,i need to figure out the next thing to do here, should the harmonic ballace be changed too ??????
the last thing i wana do is pull apart the motor to get the crankshaft and harmonic ballancer out then replace them again... cost ,parts , time , there has to be a cheaper way and still be comfortable shifting at 6500 rpm.
help somebody or do i need a witch doctor for this ?? HELLO.... ANYBODY.

If you pull it and balance the assembly then balance the rods and pistons also. Otherwise i would hesitate to run it over 6k
