2000 ford f350 door ajar light problem

My 2000 f350 diesel has been acting up lately. The door ajar light will come on w/out notice along w/ the dome lights. the dome lights will click on and off as I'm driving and eventually the door ajar light will go off and it won't happen again for couple of weeks. The first time it happened I got it to turn off by pulling the dome light fuse and then putting it back. I could here it clicking behind the fuse box. I figured it might be a faulty relay maybe. Any help would be appreciated. thanx.

I would suspect the problem is in the door switch itself, If not them i would check the relay thats clicking. The relay clicking usually dictates that is is working properly, opening and closing contacts, But it could be weak and not holding its state. Hope this helps

take some electrical cleaner and spray it in your door locks should take care of itmine did the same thing until i did that

Thanx for the tips. I sprayed wd-40 in the latch mechanism on all my doors and it cleared it right up.
