rattle noise when driving

I have a rattling noise in what seems to be in the dash in front of the driver side, when slowed down it stops and when windy it get louder, I checked everything and now I stomped, I of my friends says it could be some foam in dash but how is the air getting in.

anyone ever come across this

What kind of vehicle is it? Year make and model please? It shouldn't be too hard to pull your dash off on the driver's side and take a look see.

i think it could be any kind of object, maybe peices of foam, acorns or the remains of an unfortunate animal. doesnt sound like a safety concern, but pull the dash off and check it out, i bet it would be pretty evident once you take a look

just a thought, but if it is a older truck it could be the vent you pull open by the e-brake and hood latch.

if its the truck thats in the picture then it could be under the hood. in mine it was the vaccuum operated vent opener. it would come unhooked and drove me nuts until i figured out thats what it was. i ziptied every ******* thing on that motor before i found it. it was on the passenger side right behind the defroster fan. hope this help

there is an entrance on my car(at least) with a vacuum deal on it that opens to let fresh air in. a little rubber flap opens, its probably that. but then again, mines a chevy...
