turn signal switch

i pulled my steerin wheel off a little bit ago ,and i sat there and messed with the turn signal switch, and i just can't figure out how it works, i don't know , my right brake light wont come on when you press the break, but when you turn the left blinker on and hit the brake it comes on, so just wonderin if i could fix the turn signal switch or just gonna have to get another one, we've traced down the wires, and couldn't find anything bad ,so this is where i sit
