master cylinder

gotta put a master cylinder on my 73 f250. its got daul piston disc brakes on the front. just wondered what the difference in the master cylinder for daul piston and single piston is. my guess is it pumps more ju8ice to the front but i'm not sure. just curious. thanks for any insight

There is a difference, but when you go to a parts store they'll (or they should) ask you.

If you look it up online for your local parts store, here is what I found:

Cardone Master Cylinder: Cardone Select; New Brake Master Cylinder: New; Rear Wheel Drive w/Dual Piston Caliper Without Cruise Control

Cardone Master Cylinder: Cardone Select; New Brake Master Cylinder: New; Rear Wheel Drive w/Single Piston Caliper

Greetings,
The people, (engineeres) who design cars and trucks
are very intent on having parts, like master cylinder, fit the
application, like duel piston front calipers, exactly.

So the duel pistons are a bit different size, so the
master needs to be sized to match.

While any master might work, it might not have the
right ballence between the front and rear, so your truck
might not stop the same.

Another example is the master I just ordered and
will pick up tonight.
For a chev C-30, two masters listed, one for rear
brakes 3" wide, and another listed for rear brakes 3 1/2" wide.
