F350 Rear Axle I.D.

I have a rear axle from a Ford F350. Have no idea what year and need to know. I'm pretty sure it is a Sterling, cover has 12 bolts, but don't know how to tell if it is a 10.25 or 10.50 without tearing it apart. There is a tag on the axle, the first line is, V189C, second line, 4.10 10 2 1F24. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks, Eddie.

not sure but from the second set of numbers it seems to me like the gear is a 4.10 with the 10.25 ring. Just a guess though.

What year. Take a close look at the houding. All danas are marked in the housing cast into it somewhere could be a dana 70. Take a good look at it and do a search in google. Should shoew the diff cover and help that way.

if it's a "dana" facing the diff cover from the rear of the truck, on the bottom right on the pumpkin(not the cover) will be stamped d60 or d70. also on the right side of the axle is some numbers. these are the "bom numbers". search the internet for them and they will tell you date and more info. if you can't find them on the net email me and i will tell you. also there is a tag on the diff cover bolts that will give you the gear number.

hope this helps
