| Help 99 ranger xlt blowing coolant into resevoir I have a 1999 ford ranger xlt. I am having problems with it blowing coolant into the resevoir. New radator cap, new tstat, flush system, new coolant, radaitor clean. The truck will run normal but when you shut it down it blows coolant into the resevoir. Sometimes it will take it back into the rad. somtimes it wont. the tube to the res is clean and open. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Btooling Thanks |

| Does it run hot, or do the temps seem to be fine?

| No, it does not run hot. Normal range on the temp gauge. |

| that is normal. when hot, the coolant will expand and empty when full into your resevoir. when it cools, it will create a vacuum back into the cooling system which takes it out of the resevoir. on the resevoir, you should have two lines on it indicating cold and hot. measure by that but ever so often, check in the tank itself to make sure that you are still operating ok since the overflow tube does have tendencies to become brittle |

| It sends to the res. but dosent return it. all lines are clean and open , new rad. cap and it still does not return except once in a blue moon. I cant figure it out. |

| i believe that your truck is ok. if you dont add any water to it and it doesnt blow the top off of anything and spill water all over the ground, you are ok and cant ask for much more than that. |

| The truck will put almost all the coolant out in the res. then when the radaitor is half empty, naturally it begins to run hot. it will fill the res to overflowing if I dont empty it out and add it back to the radaitor. This did not happen for two years, then it started this. This is not normal, Im about at my wits end. Sorry I didnt state this earlier. Thanks again , hope someone else has had this problem Still |

| dumb question, but is the over-flow tank in the factory spot? liquid has a hard time traveling up stream. the cold level mark on the tank should be about even with the raidator cap. ever heard the phrase a watched pot won't boil? the coolant takes time to cool down and lose pressure, so don't be suprised if the level dosen't drop within a half hour.

| Everything is still in the place it was from the factory. Like I stated in the previous posts. If you dont manually drain the res. into a jug and put the coolant back in the radaitor, every two or three days, it will keep filling the res. unitil it overfills and the radatior will become very low and then the truck will start to run above normal the normal operating temp. |
