Idle and Tranny problems

89 F-150 5.0 efi with cam (190/190), bored 30 over, AOD trans. Truck will start and run fine. Sometimes when the idle comes down from the initial start it wants to fluctuate, like it revs, not real high though, then immediatly come back down. This keeps going on and on and on, till the motor stalls when idle goes down to far or the truck is put in gear. Very seldom will the idle level itself off. Now fer the tranny. I've tried to rebuild one, the lack of specialty tools stopped that. Put in two remans. Now current AOD has lost 3rd and 4th. It will ride in 2nd till you get off the gas ar the tension of the motor keeping it in gear is lost. Then no gear until you slow down or rev it up real high. then it slams into gear. or you can hold the break and the gas to slow down or go down hill. Just wanted to pick noggins. Being the redneck I am, I'll drive it anyway, LOL. Just nicer when it right.
