Question front brake problem 03 Ford f250

Hi everyone I am new to the forum, I am having a problem with my left front wheel/ brake area. When I drive I have a thumping sound that comes and goes. Metal on metal sound of squealing. I thought it was the wheel bearing going bad, however I talked to two mechanics recently that told me Ford has a brake drag problem. Has anyone else heard this? I jacked my truck up and spun the wheel and found no noise but I did notice some brake drag. Is this normal or do I have a problem? Could it be my lockout hub? I have mechanical experience with motors and body work not much with wheel and brake problem? Any help would be great.

unbolt the rotor, could be a torx bolt(not a ford guy). next look at the pads if you see anything other than brake pad material then replace the pads. also if you notice grooves in the rotor then you will need to get them turned at your local shop or have them replaced.

Just remember brake drag at hand speed is minor, when its 50 mph its more drastic and pressureized. Make sure its not the hub. Those puppy's are not cheap. If your getting brake drag just trash that caliper and spin the rotors. It'll save you alot of headaches. Buy OEM brakes or they will squell like a pig. Some guys are cheap, just spend the extra 20 dollars.
