96 F150 ( my first ford )

just purchased 96 f 150 6 cyl 2 wheel drive, dual tank sweet little ford, problem is it won't start ! It will almost hit put won't stay lit. When I turn the key. I can hear the fuel pump for rear tank kick on, but if I switch to front tank I don't hear a noise, Are there 2 pumps? are they in-line ? or could it be the co-2 sensors are out, ( the check engine lite came on last week and Auto-Zone ran a test indicating co-3 sensors were failing ) would that keep it from starting ? Thanks in advance for any help.

The truck has two fuel pumps, one in each tank.Does the truck have spark?? I think the code auto zone pulled was the 02 sensor??? If that was the code it would not effect the truck from starting.
