Which brake pads?

I know i will get brake dust no matter what and i'm not thinking i'm going to eliminate it completely. i had regular pads and rotors on the truck when i purchased it, the brake dust was ridiculous. when i did a brake job on it i decided to go with drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads. it is somewhat better but IMO still alot. the ceramic pads i bought have square edges on them and i feel them slightly hitting my slots when i brake which i've come to believe may be part of my dust problem. before i go spend the money on pads i just wanted to get some advice on what i should go with for less brake dust.

i would get rid of the ceramic pads, IMO. get the dust covers. they are relatively inexpensive and will get you back to better pads.

yea i thought about the dust covers... kind of wondering what they would look like behind chrome rims. they are only 16's so you prob wouldn't even notice. you are saying get rid of the ceramic, what do you suggest? i've heard a couple good things about carquest "blue" pads and just recently saw that advance auto parts started carrying Bendix TitaniuMetallic II which is a blue pad as well. haven't heard anything about it though

Your best bet would be to buy the factory pads.

the factory doesn't always put what's best for your vehicle on it... and besides, "ectech" said he already put new pads on it.

are ceramic pads not as good as the mettalic pads? i used ceramic pads on my sisters blazer and they weren't cheap by any means so they better not be a pos, they also came with a limited lifetime warrenty. as for the brake dust, you're waiting till the last minute to stop aren't you. my sister has had dust problems with all her cars, yet i have no problem with mine. i think it is just the driving style, there's no trophy for getting to the stop light first.

i dont trust ceramic near as much as i would the metallic. the chemical composition used doesnt work great for braking. metallic pads can chip a little if a rock was lodged in there. ceramic shatters. i have used the wagner thermoquiets and got excellent use at of them. these high dollar brembo and wilwood brakes are a waste of time since you can buy such good brakes alot cheaper. there is absolutely nothing wrong with factory oem. sometimes i wonder if that would be a better option than some of the other things that i buy.
