auto to manual conversion

The transmission in my 97' F-250 HD is slipping. Would it be feasable to convert it to a manual instead of rebuilding the auto. I plan on pulling a 7K trailer with it.

after the price of a tranny, flywheel, clutch and the misc parts it would not be cost efficient. You can have the auto built with a heavy duty torque converter and shift kit that'll pull just as well as any manual.

what kind of horse power are you running and what do you do with the truck? do you tow heavy weight?

An auto can withstand more power when it is built right the jason at dieselnut motorsports has a 700 HP dodge diesel with about 1300 ftlbs of toorque and he has a little over $6000 into his tranny and that thing shifts nice and firm. my 400hp diesel also has an auto and it just has valve body, 91% torque converter, billet input shaft and flex plate, and upgraded clutchs. and it doesn't slip even when I race it!
