What's it worth?

I have a 1978 Ford F-150 body (cab and front clip) on a 1971 1 ton 4x4 chassis. It came with a 390, 4 speed tranny (with granny low) and divorced transfer case. I took the 390 and trans for another project and I might be looking to get rid of the rest. The body itself is in decent condition. I repaired the rust and replaced the right front fender and gave it an amature paint job. If I do decide to get rid of it I am just wondering what I should set the price at. The front axle is a sealed straight. I put on new shocks on the front and replaced the brake lines, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, and rear shoes. It is manual drum on all 4. Just curious. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks

Id set the price low. Although it is an unusual truck, without an engine and tranny not many people would want to buy it.

Well the motor and trani would probably be worth about $450-$500 if it runs good and the body about $1000 and about $500 for everything else so mabe about $1500 to $2000

1000 seems high for the body unless it is mint with nice paint, you can't even sell a truck of that year around here for that much unless it has nice mods.

if it runs good, maybe people would buy it because a truck like that might have good potential for rock crawling or offroading

Thanks

Thanks for the replies. I'm thinking of selling it with the engine and tranny now because I think it's going to be too much of a trouble in the other project. The enigne and tranny work great. As far as I can see with the engine all it needs is a carb rebuild. It leaks a little out of the accelerator pump and loses it's siphon if you let it sit form more than a few hours. The body however isn't exactly mint but has good paint on it. It's been sitting for a few years now and the paint isn't cracking, pealing or fading but it's still in rough shape meaning it kinda waves at ya. I didn't know much about body work at the time but it came out better than I expected. I kind of want to sell it for money for my other project but then again I don't really want to let it go yet. Got some more thinking to do. Again thank you for the advice on pricing it is very much appreciated. Take care.
