I think this best describes it
LinkBacks (Trackbacks, Pingbacks and Refbacks) allow you to notify another site that you wrote something related to what is written on a specific page. I guess you could say so.. watch how your address bar (the final numbers) change when you click on the permalinks for the different posts. I guess it makes it easier to cut and paste that.

Honestly.. I never use any of those features on the horse side.
