senior section?

i would like to suggest a senior section to be included in the next forum update similar to the dog and horse forum.

i know we are the smallest of the 3 forums but it would be nice to have a section for us to talk about things where the general public cannot see. the PM system is nice, but can get confusing when multiple members are included in the conversation.

thank you for the consideration.

P.S. if other members would like to have something like this, please chim in.

Not sure exactly what version we are getting, but it may end up with some of the features like the horse and dog sides have, groups and such. It just had to say the horse and dog side each have a lot of custom software that probably won't be transfered here.

If we are heading for an update, then I would like to make a suggestion....

I think that perhaps we should have a rule for posting. What I mean is like 72 hours after a memeber joins before they can start a new thread. Posting comments on open posts I would think would be okay, but it might cut down on one time posters trying to use this place to advertise or push a college thesis or something. Know what I mean? Just a thought.

Now for mud's suggestion, what do you mean? Like a seperate forum where only senior members can read it? You have something personal you need to get off your chest there bud? LOL.....

A lot of the spammers join weeks to months ahead of their posting and there are actually a lot of threads you don't see (mods see) that our spam prevention catches, just some still do fall through even though we have prevention on accounts and threads.

yes, only senior members would be able to see it.
PM's can get confusing when you have multiple members involved in the conversation. with the senior section you could make a post and get advice from members without fear of the average web surfer reading about your personal life.

i would assume the majority/all of the forums rules would still apply to this section, to keep it family friendly and new rules would probably be created.
