I agree that research is key. I think if you cannot see the item in person and a new member is selling it you should stay away.

People who join just to run a free ad waste more time than the registration effort is worth. In a way their ad could bring more good members here through a google search.
As far as one time posters asking for advice, it is a compliment that a person found this forum and considered it a safe place to ask for sound advice. The members here have always been willing to share their wealth of knowledge. Class begets class.

There are not many forums where a new member can join and feel welcome from the get-go.
Acceptance is not only good for the member asking the question, it is good for anyone else with the same problem to be able to search and find this forum and decide to become part of the community.
If a person posts and leaves, consider it divine intervention. They were probably a mass thread killer or something.

Just for the record, this is not my first post.

The Monte is in Las Vegas but im in Asia but if you send the money I will have a trucking company drive to your door step oh the trucker charged me less so he will return $1000.00 dollars cash on arrival oh also the reason for selling is I was transferred you know how keeping a job is now days.

PS-I have seen these write ups on craigslist.org before and to boot some people fall for them my step daughters girl friend almost did but I wrote a letter saying that I was her father and im a police taking some vacations and I wanted to go and see the car ahead of time well they never wrote back. I have even read one about her son died in Iraq and she just wanted the car gone so again I wrote a letter and we never heard back from them some people just never get it they need to get a honest job like most of us. Stumpuller I wasn't meaning you I just went along with the joke.
