to add to this, you are welcome to link websites in the PM system in the event that a member request more information that came from somewhere else. posting the link on the open forum, however is strictly prohibited.

A clarification please? Is posting a link to an article allowed?

I have a feeling that I might have been guilty of violating this rule, with my recent post about diesel anti-freeze/coolants. IIRC, I linked to an article that was posted on another site (for construction equipment) that does have a forum, but the article was from a different area of that site. I believed, at the time, that this was okay.

Do you have a link to that recent post Bernie ?
I am not sure that was what was being reffered to
but I have noticed the habit becoming somewhat widespread.
Folks should do like me and just plagiarize.

any automotive forum links would be off limits, forums that pertain to rc cars, tractors, help for the ill minded or what not would be fine. if you have any doubts you can always copy/paste the text and state it as such when you post it.

Mud but I really like them jokes from that tractor forum well I guess one could copy & paste it so we can still have a good laugh. And your right I have posted stuff that I have found else where but I have done what you said copied & pasted example on the penetrating oil test I posted some time ago.
Be good! GMC
PS-I agree if it's something that might get this forum in trouble it's a good idea we wouldn't want that. Hugs & Kisses! I'm just spreading some love again today.
