Reputation System

Please post your questions/concerns about the reputation system here.

It should be noted that we do not allow discussion of specific reputation on the open forum. That includes thank each other for good reputation, complaining about bad reputation that you may gotten, etc. If you feel you have received unwarranted bad reputation, please send a private message to one of the moderators to investigate.

There was a question about the comments that come up over the reputation bars. They are just fun little programmers notes. Some say "soandso is known to all", etc. They vary based on the number of points that person has.

I have a question about the reputation system. How can you see who has givin you reputation? All I can seem to do is look at the thread it was givin from. Most guys have commented with who they are, but some havn't..... was just curious.

OOOO and how come people do not give out more reputation anymore? It seems only like ten peple on here have any... and most are moderators.

You can't see who has given reps, it is an anonymous system, if they choose to sign it that is their choice.. if they choose to abuse it, then us mods can look it up.

As far as why people don't use them.. who knows, I usually don't give any unless I see a post that really makes me think wow.. whether that is a good or bad wow..

I just kinda thought it was an old thing. Most of the people who have them have been on her for years, so I just assumed it "used" to mean something, if that makes sense. No biggie though, just felt a little left out...lol

i dunno, i think i've been here probably longer than most other regular users and i dont recall it ever being that big. i think maybe bc this is a small community type forum that everyone pretty knows whos legit and whos not. i guess maybe we should start using it so visitors know what advice they can take and what to be warry of. also, its a hassle to give rep points. i know it only takes a few seconds but we could all use those few seconds doing something else more valuable to our time

i dislike the rep system, i understand its purpose, but its to easy to be swayed to a members benefit, not saying to change it or rid of it, its just something i take with a grain of salt, cause every mechanic has a method, it may differ slightly from the next tooler, but the ending result is of the same, i`m the kinda person who likes to learn new ways, if it works for me i`ll do it again, simple. i like helping others, and am not afraid to say "dunno" on some questions, i just give what i know, you know? not the kinda guy that gives an answer to everything, i laugh a little there cause our boss just fired a guy that "had an answer to everything", kinda anoying, anyways i`m rambling again so,...yeah i`m done, hope to continue being part of the team!!

I have another question about this. How do the green dots relate in points? I mean do you get one for every hunred points or something?

And is your rep power you give in direct relation to how many rep points you currently have, or how many posts you have? And do the # of posts you have also affect the number of rep points?

Okay, so I had more then one question. I have been very bored and therefore inquisitive today! LOL.

Well, if you hold a ruler up to your screen,
you will see that no matter what point you look at on the ruler,
all the squares line up.

I can't answer that not being familiar with the color scheme that includes "hun red".
