| Exhaust Question I've got a 1984 Chevy K10 4x4 w/ a 305. I'm dropping in a BBC 402 here soon and I'm looking at what to do for exhaust. I'm looking into Hooker Competition Headers. Then I was just going to have a muffler shop bend up true duals w/ no cats and 2 flowmasters. Then I'd have it run 90 degrees out behind the rear tires. Here's where I'm stuck: Is this header selection a good one? They're about $200, which seems alright for Hooker Headers (If they're what they're said to be). What flowmaster muffler should I get? I've heard great things about the Super 40's and the new Super 44's. I want a deep tone that's fairly loud when idling, and loud when i step on it. Which one would I be happier with? Thanks guys and gals. Any help is appreaciated. |

| If it were me I'd step up to the hooker super comps but that is just my opinion. I'm sure the reg comp headers are just as good. pretty much any 40 series muffler from flowmaster will be what you want. It sounds like you have a good plan so I say go for it.

| I have a 40 and couldnt be any happier. I was gonna get a 44 and still think I probly shoulda but I called Flowmaster directly and told them what I was looking 4 and they refered me 2 the 40. So if ur so curious just give em a ring..as 4 the headers Im in the same situation as u..need more input haha

| I bought headers from summit for the same truck with a 454, and 4x4. The passenger header made some heavy contact with the front shaft. I wrapped a chain around the header with a come along and bent the tubes over. no big deal really. I can't remember the brand, but they were less than 200 bucks.

| sounds like they were Summit's Truck headers. Im lookin in 2 a pair of those myself. They said u gotta remove the steering shaft 2 put em in on my app...I was thinkin just drop the stock **** out the bottom and then feed the new 1s up thru the same. But hope it doesnt rub on the steering shaft haha but they're only $150 4 my truck.
