| 2004 Ford F150 or 2004 Nissan Titan Hello I was wondering what would be a better truck for a daily driver and for pulling my jetski and motorcycle. Both would be fully loaded with anywhere from 40-50,000 miles. Which one gets better gas? All that stuff. Thanks |

| First off, welcome to our little community here. It is always nice to have new thoughts and opions...... As for your question It really depends on how you feel about the trucks. I am personally not a FORD fan, but it is still a nice truck. The Nissan is "rated" as getting better gas mileage and more pulling power, but I would look at cost of ownership. If you are are picking between only these two, and I can't believe I am saying this, but I think the F150 is the better choice. Over the years of owning it, it might have a higher quantity of small issues, but it will be worlds less expensive to repair or maintain. The parts for the F150 are going to be more readily availible and probably easier to service. There are still more fords on the road then Nissans and it is for a reason. Ford has been making the motors for their trucks for almost a century now, where as Nissan has only been building their V8 pickups for a few years. So, if there was an issue and a part was needed, you are going to have better luck with the ford. Now if you were to base the descision on the looks or warranties, or perhaps even the "name" itself and looking for the title, the Nissan is not a bad way to go. But you are buying a name, and I still hold that that is not worth the money. I would not spend 150 bucks on a pair of Nike's when a 30 pair of no name brands will do the trick. Know what I mean? Of course that is how I look at things, and I am sure there are people out there that prefer the name brands....LOL But basically bud, it boils down to you. What do you want? Which one is the better deal for what you are looking for? Which one has the better insurance rates? Even if the gas mileage is like 2 mpg better for the nissan, if the insurance is 100 more a month, is there really a savings? All of these are things to consider too.

| Go to New Car Prices | Used Car Values - Official Kelley Blue Book Site and do a side by side comaprision of the models, it will give you the complete breakdown of the individual specs between them. MPGS, Payloads, HP and interior room, ETC. that could help you a lot.

| I drive a 2007 Titan 4x4. I get 13.5 mpg combo city/hwy if I get on the petal alot or am haulin a heavy load. I get 15-16 mph combo city/hwy if I have a light foot and keep it at 60 on the hwy. I get 17-18 straight hwy if I stay at 60 and it drops to 15 if I stay at 70. I love the truck, plenty of power, handles nice in snow and ice and the bed is designed well for tying down loads. I have nothing against the other trucks, I just got a great deal on this truck from a friend that was the sales manager for the Nissan dealer in my area (23.5K out the door!) The other trucks were up near 30K, ouchy! |
