| Make sure you get it done by somebody reputable and a good garuntee! |

| Sounds about right on the price from around here. Sure you can find someone to do it cheaper, but as stated above, get a good warranty and use a reputable shop. Also ask to make sure that is including a new torque converter. Many times people get a trans job and use the same torque converter and all the sludge and shavings are passed right back into the new trans. Check your shop at www.bbb.org That is the Better Biz Bureau, see if they have any complaints and if they do, did they resolve them properly. |

| Its sounds about right for all the labor and a good guarantee, I think our dodge just ran around 1200 for a std transmission from a dodge shop.

| this is suppose to be a certified tranny shop but i will have to look into the garuntee and see if they include a torque converter with the rebuild, i was wondering if you think it would be cheaper to get a new/used tranny and swap it???? if so how much does a new/used tranny go for it is a 4L65E tranny out of my 2000 chevy silverado 1500 4x4 and where is a good place to buy one? thanks |

| here is this i found i've got a 4L65E....(the GMPP version), the truck version has the same stuff in it but comes with a transfer-case compatible tailhousing. the GMPP version comes with a non-torque arm 2WD, Holden style tailhousing. (must be swapped off stock 4L60E in order to retrofit into f-body.) same weight, same gear ratios... -5 pinion planetary gearsets -hardened/shot peened turbine, stator and output shafts -hardened sun gear -hi-energy clutch packs -extra clutch in 3-4 pack -recalibrated valvebody -heavy duty low/reverse roller clutch -factory deep pan ( i replaced this with a huge BBK pan anyway.) i think that's it. basically it's your basic, lightly upgraded 4L60E. it's a nice piece to pop in if you can get it for dealer cost like i did, but otherwise it's a bit expensive
