Not my bedliner, but here the way it works: A pigmented bedliner (which is pigmented but not with UV resistant pigments) is applied to the truck, then a topcoat (which is usually a urethane based automotive paint) is applied to the bedliner. The problem is that the topcoat is not durable enough and can be worn down.

The LINE-X Xtra product (which is made by Dupont only for LINE-X) works like this also. However, Xtra is significantly more durable, is more scratch and stain resistant, fade resistant, and if fortified with a Dupont Kevlar micropulp.

Are those drips I'm seeing?!

Yeah, Rhino's worthless. Especially if it's doing that.

The LINE-X Extra stuff they have is even UV coated so the color doesn't fade. I found this on their website about it:

LINE-X XTRA with DuPont? KEVLARŪ - Pick Up Truck Bed Liners, Truck Bed Coating, Trailer Floor Coating

I sprayed Rhino for 8 months back in high school...... it is a 2 part polyurethane.... and if no color pigment is added then you get a yellowish color(as color shows. the red is what they call UV..... it is a paintlike thing that they spray on to protect from fadding in the sunlight, and to add the shiny. IT is cheaper to go with the no pigment, but very little extra cost to go for the black or white..... as with anything if you make it custom color(yes they can match ANY color of vehicle by using the paint code)..... it has a lifetime warranty, and it Is VERY hard to strip out of a bed IF the bed is prepped properly by the company.... but if it ever does chip, peel, or anything, they fix it free of charge. Some may disagree with me, but I still go in and help prep trucks for rhino to this very day. so they may say what they want...rhino is a good product. Line X is a good product, as is scorpion liner...... I would go with rhino, as in 15 seconds it has cured hard to the touch, and ready for any amount of weight in 24 hrs. We use Rhino at Simplot phosphates(the mine I work at) to line the inside of the tanks that hold our phosphate slurry..... you can hav it sprayed from 1/4inch think to 5 inch...... it all depends. I don't know much about the others.... But in my opinion, I would go with Rhino, or lineX.... my friends all have Line X and we havent scratched it yet.....

Haha! Oh no no no, 03chevy. I was talking about that red bedliner that LivNLrg posted back on the first page. Questionable application.

And yes, I've heard of the stuff being used for mine applications as well. It's a pretty clever way to use it!

Nobody remembers to open the bed drain holes after spraying, so it fills up!

thats pretty cool Greg, liek I said, I haven't used Line x before, and we don't have a linex installer around here, so not much to compare too..... but I might have to have the mine look into the set up to spray line x...... our rhino equip.. at the mine is really old and needing replaced.
