| Major Problem!!!! My friend bought an early 90's Isuzu truck about 10 months ago. At first when he bought it had a little trouble idling every now and then when he would stop at a stop light. He'd tap on the gas and it would be fine. About 3 months later, after driving about 40 miles at once, it started missing out BAD.... REALLY BAD!!! I'm talking about missing out so bad that it would jolt the truck so much that it felt like you were on a bull in the rodeo. After you let sit for a minute, it would do just fine, and he wouldn't have any problems with it unless he drove it for awhile. Well... about 2 months ago, It started getting worse. He couldn't go a block without it doing it. He had thought it was a couple of things wrong with it and he replaced what he thought was the cause, and it didn't help. He finally took it to a local mechanic and they replaced some things and it still didn't help. They have finally given up and said they had no clue what was wrong with it. He is tight on money and still owes 200 to the mechanic. He has offered to sell the truck for the remaining balance that he owes the mechanic. I have been thinking about getting it, but the only place other than him around here that works on foreign trucks is an isuzu dealership. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is with it? I'm sorry I wasn't more specific with the things replaced, but I don't have a list handy. I will post it up probably tomorrow. If i decide to get it, it will be my first truck, but I don't know if it will be worth the hassle since I am in college and don't have the best financial situation either. Thanks for all your help -daniel |

| How about water in gas tank add a can of Seafoam I think it removes water from tank plus it cleans the injectors real good. How many miles are on the truck maybe the cat is plugged? It could also be a bad battery have it checked real good load test plus check every cell tested I have seen a bad battery do strange things to a vehicles maybe bad or cheap plug wires dirty air filter plugged fuel filter I would say buy it and have someone check it for you and if you take it to the dealer tell them you just you want them to pin-point the problem and you fix it also check your battery cables make sure that there not corroded i mean not having any green acid on them that to can fool you big times and if all that fails place a horse saddle in the truck and ride her hard. Good luck! GMC PS-Others will chime in soon just wait. Oh also I forgot to welcome you here and howdy from TEXAS you done found a good forum to be on there is some smart/cool cats here. It's something small hang in there sometimes one gets like your buddy that they just want to burn it up but once you find what's wrong your going to have a good small truck that gives you good mpg. |

| Buyer beware! don't buy a big expensive problem, there are to many deals on decent transportation. I would think twice about handing someone that kind of money and not get results, I can see $100 for analysis.

| Thanks alot! I still haven't been able to get a list of all thats been replaced. But I do remember that the plugs and wires have been replaced. I was thinking it was water in the gas tank, but we emptied out the gas tank and put fresh gas in it. (I actually have a funny story about why I thought it was watery gas... but I'll save that story for another day!lol) But thanks again for the great welcoming and for the advice! This truck isn't going to be my daily driver. I was just wanting it to help haul stuff and for a toy! -daniel P.S. Will try to get that list by the end of the week! |
