OK guys here's the write up that im talking about. Now I do agree if they even took off fast yes they should be ticketed but for just revving the truck next to you is too much in my opinion. But I don't know all the laws or I would be a lawyer.

WELL On thurs i went to see a friend and we went to take a quick cruise afterwards, in which a 5.9 rt Dakota revved at me and i revved back, we didn't race but we were right next to each other and unfortunately a cop heard the trucks so he pulled us over and got us for racing i argued i was just revving and he said o well then its attempt to race your still going in, went to pharr pd which was ok ,then to county which sucked and i barely got out well guys even if it wasnt racing, darn im not gonna race on the street again, even though its tempting still i dont want to go back. like i said learned my lesson guys

Now this is me writing GMC I was besides this police car not long ago at a stop light and in our MPV so I opened the window and said to him on the green light lets go he said ok I started laughing and told him thanks for putting your life on the line everyday for us have a great day. He said thanks and have a good day as well.

The ticket is called exhibition of speed in some states. "Street Racing" has become a giant problem and has taken many many lives.
This ticket has many penalties and these can be very expensive. Usually most officers have a zero tolerance policy regarding speed drawn events, or anyone evenparticipating in such activities.
Here is So. Ca. the law has crushed vehicles that were impounded from street racing events.
I cant comment on the penalties and have no opinion with the linited facts provided, but I do feel that there is probably a little more to the story.
I might add, that I too asked a cop if he wanted to race.
He heard my then 1957 chevy LS7 BBC idling pretty lumpy, and asked if my ride was fast? I replied "not bad, maybe a little bit faster than his sled", and asked if "he was willing to find out?"
I then told him "when the light goes green I would show him how fast it was. If he could catch me I would gladly take the ticket". He replied " you cant beat Motorola", and disgression was then the better part of valor, so I just remined him that I would have smoked that black and white. He laughed, and we went on.
I gave him a thumbs up and he went about his business. I am thankfull for police officers, and respect the laws and rules of the road. Though many of my rides push the envelope, I still have respect. I make it a point to wave at my local law enforcement enforcers, and perhaps I get some slack because I am open and friendly.
Getting pulled over is never fun, and we ar generally upset when this happens, but we must know that our officers are still people first and officers second. We treat them correctly, and they will return the courtesy.
Intresting word, courtesy.
Could courtesy have played a role in the original story?

that is true.. i have been a **** to some offices but nice to them at a later time.. i almost always get out of tickets by being honest.. even some wacked out stories that are true get you out of a ticket... now all the cops around her know me and dont bother me because they know im not a tipical street racer.. yeah i speed when i can but not if theres traffic.. i know all the cops from here to philly just because of all the car shows i attend... alot of them are interested in my projects... even the ones that arent mine.. a few have come to me with some fiberglass work on there off duty cars and trucks... its amazing what you can get away with if you knwo the right people... at the tristate tuners meet every thursday during the summer the cops accually block a section of industial park for us... just so we can hang out and race... but if anyone gets out of hand they kindly ask them to leave before everyone has to... i dunno maybe cops are more leanant around here... in my maxima i have races several cops.. sometimes when i would beat them they would turn on there lights and pull me over... they would give me a ticket but it would be a dummy

agreed. the last i got pulled over, i was a little peeved, but after all was said and done at the court house, we were able to shake hands and i'd probably buy him a beer the next time i saw him.

I like to joke with the local law enforcement guys and have soome fun. I am respectful and the officers know that. If they are sitting in a fast food place, I might strike a conversation by thanking them for choosing this particular time to enjoy lunch because I was really "hauling the mail" earlier.
Or might ask which way they are headed when they leave, so that I can go the other way! They get a chuckle out of that kind of nonsense, and this type of developing relationship is a plus.

Here I asked this random officer to take my girl away, and he did. He then stated that he could not keep her since his wife might divorce him, so he gave her back to me. Darn the bad luck. Put a big smile on his face though, and that was cool.
People skills are an aquired skill.

Its a Carhartt. I wear many Carhartt jackets shirts and pants. It was raining that day at California Motor Speedway, and her jacket was not suitable for the weather.
Being the gentleman that I am, I offered her my coat.
Actually the truth is that I always carry a Carhartt jacket in each of my trucks. You never know when it might get cold. I have been caught without warm weather gear once. Never happened again! Even though I am from Cali, I can still wear decent gear.
Nothing beats a Carhartt jacket!
