fun with the pete got a call this morning from one of the drivers. wheel seal went out on the tractor this morning. that with a leaky oil pan is going to prove to be a full day tomorrow. might have to break out the cold ones just to get started. also have an injector line that is leaking but no way on this green earth am i going to try an attempt fixing that. the dealership can have fun with that one. who knows, maybe if i get finished early tomorrow, i can work on all these temp sensors for the power dividers, rear diffs and trannies. now that i study about it, i have an air valve on the trailer to contend with also. anyone doing anything tomorrow morning around 9 ?? this stupid truck is starting to get to me. maybe its time to make sure the insurance is paid up on it.

unfortunately, you cant sell a truck at the moment. went really great today. the seal was slobbering so it didnt coat the whole frame and brakes like it normally does. good thing the seal went out also as when i pulled the axle, i found that the spindle nut could be turned by hand. any longer and i would have replaced both the seal and bearings and races. i did locate a small bit of wear there on the spindle but i dont believe that it was enough to hurt it. as for the oil pan, that thing is going to the shop. i have located another couple of leaks that i dont feel like attempting so i will give the headache to someone else. changed the oil last weekend and already 1/2 gallon low. hopefully the mill will shutdown this week and the truck can get the leaks fixed. next thing to do is to beat the driver in the head as the plug for the rear driver had been put on WAY too tight and the square part has been rounded. still feel lucky that i got a pipe wrench to take it off. by the way john, thanks for the offer. my BIL that is supposed to be helping me out fled the scene with some lame excuse.

3406a. already have next weekend lined up. 4 drive tires, one pair of brake shoes, and one slack adjuster. nothing is wrong with the adjuster except for where the drivers has rounded off the adjusting bolt. had to get a combo wrench and hammer it on. this time, i am going for the self adjusters as to maybe deter him from messing with them.

| changing semi tires? i pitty you. i had a hard enough time pulling my mud tires off the rims with a tire machine. dang things weigh a ton when you only have one free hand.

much rather change truck tires. 10 times easier. i can have 4 broke down and remounted in no time. i just have a hard time airing them up as 100 pounds a piece is alot for a compressor thats on its last leg anyway.

I'd concur on the truck tires....... way easier to change. Little lube, and a big bar.... it goes easy....I just hate the 5 piece rims....... getting the old bead to release is a pain.
