even if i could afford a snap-on or whatever it may be, i still wouldn't buy it. my brother has a $5k+ matco tool box and probably three times that much worth of tools in it. he pretty much sold his sole to the tool guy to have those tools. good thing about having an older brother, you learn from their mistakes.

i do have some name brand tools but none were bought at sticker price. my 18 volt rigid drill with a dual charger and two batteries cost me $50. i never would have bought it off the shelf at $300+.

You'd think a guy who could paint his truck could paint his tool box. Just an idea...

Wow !!! Yellow??? That's differant. It would take me a few minutes to get used to that, but I think I probably could. Uhhhhh, I don't know, maybe not. Yeah, OK, I could since everyone else has Red. Blue would be my preferance though, but I would do the yellow. Seems that is not going to be hard decision for you though. I am like you, money talks, and the Red will work just absolutley perfect even if everyone in the world had Red to save the bucks and get whats on sale.

i have bought a leather hole punch from harbor freight. it does belts real nice. also have a large selection of china wrenches and screwdrivers. my shop is open. no doors including for the big hole that the big trucks go into. anyone up to no good is able to sneak up in there provided that they can make it back out without activating the alarm. (pump action) china hangs on the wall and is convenient if i have buddies over helping me with something or someone needs to borrow a tool. face it, crime where i live is nonexistent. all of the craftsman and various matco tools stay in the boxes locked up for safe keeping. these are the tools i use when i know that reliability is there in the event of a bolt that might round off or like for the u joint caps. must use a 12pt socket. all my other tools are in a storage building and hardly see the light of day. mostly woodworking and electrical tools.

I have actually bought several things from HF, and so far, I have not had to return anything at all. yeah, the quality suffers some, but for the price, and it is lifetime, so if it does break, its replaced. I bought my 12 yo son some of that Pitts brand lifetime handtools. Give him the chance to use tools on his bikes, skateboards, dirt bike, etc, and learn to take care and keep track of these cheap ones, take pride in his tools, then as he gets older, he or we can replace it with better stuff. He loses this stuff, so what, it was cheap. Also less likley to get stolen if he has not gotten in the habit of being sure they are put away. Snap On and Matco get stolen, not HF tools.

I did get the son his own Craftsman tool box though for his HF tools. Also nice because now he leaves my good tools alone since he his own. Not sure you can call Craftsman good tools compared to Snap and Mat, but that is most of what I have. I will not longer buy much Craftsman though, I think their quality has slid. I even have some craftsman wrenches that say China on them. Craftsman did that for a bit, then it hurt sales so bad, they did got back to USA. It says USA anyway, could be a lie. I break Craftsman rathchets all the time, and they give you a refurb or kit to fix it now days. My bro has a ratchet with someone else's initials on it that he got on exchange from Sears. That's just rotten to me.

There is that cool blue color again. What brand is this one? Looks like a real nice box without paying a fortune for the name. Some guys take out a mortgage to have the better named boxes, and some people can justify it too like 75, but many can't.

i got a red craftsman in my garage nothing big or fancy and i got a small 3 drawer craftsman type that ya can carry. one of them ones that come with the tool set. mostly keep the specialty tools and such in the big one and keep the sockets and wrenches and stuff ya use alot in the small cary along one. I tend to havta use my tools alot away from the garage at the local junkyard or at a buddies house. i do wanna get another set for the garage so i can just stash the cary along one in my truck one of these days i guess. most of my sockets wrenches and tools are craftsman. for the amount of use i get out of my tools craftsman does just fine. not too expensive and not cheap either and if it breaks its replaced even if it is a rebuild. the important thing is ya have a tool to use. ill take a pic maybe tommorow. i havta get some pics of these trucks i have too.
