| conversion what do i need to convert a r-12 to r-134 .where can i get r-12 freon for a reasonable price? |

| 30 bucks for a 12oz can. i have 2 if you are interested. completely drain the system. you will have to buy a new compressor and accumulator though. you will also need a small bottle of PAG103 (compressor oil) and a retro kit which comes in a package of 3 fittings for the 134a gauge set. thats all there is to it. despite what people say, i would change the compressor. 134a is NOT a drop in replacement for 12. however, go to a local AC distribution center and inquire about the 400 series replacement for 12. it is a drop in replacement for 12 with no conversions. costs about the same as 134a. |
